Vestibular Rehabilitation

Vestibular physical therapy is a specialized type of therapy that focuses on treating disorders of the vestibular system, which is responsible for maintaining balance and spatial orientation. Vestibular disorders can cause symptoms such as:

  • dizziness

  • vertigo

  • difficulty with balance & coordination

​Vestibular physical therapy is often recommended for patients with conditions such as vestibular neuritis, labyrinthitis, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), and other vestibular disorders.

Vestibular physical therapy aims to alleviate these symptoms through a series of exercises and techniques that target the vestibular system. These exercises may include gaze stabilization exercises, balance training, and habituation exercises, among others.  

 

The goal of vestibular physical therapy is to improve a patient's ability to maintain balance and spatial orientation, which can lead to improved quality of life and reduced risk of falls. Vestibular physical therapy is often recommended for patients with conditions such as vestibular neuritis, labyrinthitis, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), and other vestibular disorders.
